POINT TO POINT STEEPLECHASE.
On Wednesday next, 20th inst., a programme of point to point steeplechases will be held on Messrs I Robinson Bros’, property, Lady’s Mile, under tlie auspices of the Manawatu limit Club. The first I event will take place at 2 pan. I sharp, the programme including three events, which are detailed in I our advertising columns. I The meeting will be so arranged as to allow of a good view of the sport by spectators, and it is anticiliated that there will be a large attendance of the public to witness that which is somewhat of a novelty to the local public. No gate charge will be made. The following nominations have been received by the secretary (Mr W. McKenzie) for each. event. Three valuable trophies are being offered as prizes. • I Manawatu Hunt Heavyweight Point-to-Point Steeplechase; about 3 miles. —E. H. Robinson’s Portraitist, J. Sexton’s Ah Fu, L. 11. Collinson’s Punjaub and Birkcnose, W. 11. Oliver’s Gay Willie, G. V. Shannon’s Roany, Olliver and Little’s Chautauqua, Mr Meredith’s Taihape. Foxton Point-to-Point Steeplechase (owners up); about 2 miles. —W. Neylon’s Take Down, C. P. James’ Glenform, L. H. Collinson’s Punjaub and Birkenose, J. Sexton’s Ah Fu, G. V. Shannon’s Roany, Olliver and Little’s Chautauqua, Mr Meredith’s Taihape. Herrington Light-weight Pointto Point Steeplechase; about 21
