TOM MIX AT THE TOWN HALL.
A horse that is almost human, that knows what his part is in a motion picture and carries out every detail in the scenes will be seen with Tom Mix in “For Big Stakes,” the William Fox feature at the Town Hull this evening. As in all Mix pictures, fast action, and big thrills predominate. “Clean Up Sudden” in the star’s role and whether it be in the prairie tire, the attack on the jail, or the roping of cut-throats, Mix never belies his name “Sudden.” A mystery romance adds to the entertaining qualities of “For Big Stakes.” Al. St. John, the comedian with the long legs and longer bicycle will lend chief comedy support to to-night’s programme when lie gives us “The Village Sheik,” his latest effort. Prices Ud and 1/6, children 3d and Od. Next Wednesday at the Cabaret the Paramount feature “Back Home and Broke,” with Thomas Meighan playing lead will be screened.
ROYAL PICTURES. “Trouble” is still another phase of Jackie Coogan’s genius and puts a tlniil into you and makes you laugh until the tears roll down your cheeks. Don’t miss this high-class entertainment at the Royal Theatre to-night for there’s a hurly-burly time for little John that will lift you off your feet and send you out praising Jackie (Joogan to the skies. As an extra “Perils of the Yukon” will be screened.* On the whole this is one of tne best programmes yet screened at the Royal, and that is saying something. Prices 1/- and 1/0 plus tax. Children half price. On Monday night that long-look-ed for production “Dr. Jack” is to be screened. If you go to see this production you will have the same pleasure enjoyed by the late President Harding, who when he saw it forgot the momentous cares of his office and almost rolled out of his chair- with hilarious laughter. He came out of the show saying that he felt more refreshed than he had for three weeks. Don’t miss seeing “The Timber Queen to be screened shortly.
