RUGBY UNION AFFAIRS
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. The weekly meeting of the Horowhenua Rugby Union Management Committee was held last Tuesday evening. In the case of Bryant, a Foxtou player, who was ordered off the field in the Shannon-Foxton game last Saturday, and who waited on the Union in consequence, but of whose case no intimation had been received by the Committee, it was moved by Mr Hutchings and seconded by Mr Sciascia, “That the Referees’ Association be asked to explain why the referee, Mr Burrows, had omitted to report the case to the meeting.” —U Members expressed regret that such a thing should have occurred, and that under the circumstances this player should have been put to the expense of attending the meeting. Oil the motion of Mr Austin, seconded by Mr Hutchings, it was further resolved: “That as there is no referee’s report concerning Bryant’s being ordered off, his ease be dismissed.”
