THE LOCAL STATE SCHOOL.

VISIT OF INSPECTION BY DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION.

Mr 11. E. Loiigwortb, Director of Physical Education, paid an official visit to the local State school this morning and delivered an address to the pupils of Std. Y. and AH. Air Longworth impressed upon the pupils the necessity for observing the laws of health. Ho said they had opportunities at the school of so educating their muscles that when they arrived at manhood and womanhood they would have that carriage of the body that was always a joy to behold. A good carriage and deportment made for good health.

In conversation with our representative, Air Longworth said that the pupils at the local school were a healthy looking lot and it appeared that they were being physically benelitted by the training undertaken. The children also appeared to be very responsive, which was an evidence of mental activity which also indicated careful teaching on health matters. Air Longworth paid a fine tribute to the school building and the provision made for light and ventilation.

Ah- Longworth has just completed a visit to the Palmerston N. and Wanganui schools.
