MANAWATU-OROUA RIVER BOARD.

The Manawatu-Oroua River Board met at Palmerston on Thursday when there were present: Trustees R. T. Bell (chairman), K. MacDonald, H. Wilton, A. Seifert, M. P. Anderson, N. P. Neilsen and W. S. Carter.

The engineer’s report which Avas adopted stated, inter alia, that the survey of the ManaAvatu river from the Whirokino Bend to the sea, for the purpose of locating the best position for a relief cut, had been completed It was reported by the chairman that the special empoAvering Bill prepared by the board’s solicitor had passed the Local Bills Committee of the House of Representatives. It was decided that as soon as possible there should be held a conference between the board and the Foxfon Harbour Board concerning the channel of the ManaAvatu River at the Foxton end. . ~
