LAND AND INCOME TAX.
FLAX LAND EXEMPT Wellington, Last Night. The Public Accounts Committee reported on the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill to the House to-day with some amendments in Hie clauses providing for a change in taxation of income from land. The exemption clause, which excluded from income tax any income derived by any owner .of land in respect of the rent thereof or from profits derived from the direct use or cultivation thereof, has been altered by striking rents out.
■ Flax has been deleted from the clause setting out the classes of income from land which are no! to be exempt.
