FATAL ACCIDENT.
DEATH OF YOUNG MAN. Hawera, July 31. A fatal accident occurred at Otakeho yesterday. Eric John Stendale, aged 18 years, jumped from a dray to pick up a maul which had fallen from another dray. Stendale’s horse bolted and a motor car coming along, Stendale accepted a lift so as to recapture the horse. When the ear came alongside the 'dray Stendale jumped off and fell under the 'dray, a wheel passing over his neck. He died on the way to the hospital.
