INFLUENZA.

Nine more pneumonic cases and four deaths were reported in Auckland yesterday morning. The total for July is 78 pneumonic influenza cases, including lifteeu which have proved fatal. The ravages of influenza and other winter complications among the elderly people of Dunedin show in startling fashion in the monthly statistics. Of 171 people who died during the month, 105 were over 60. The deaths were nearly double those of July of last year. The death registration in the Christchurch district during July numbered 195, an increase of 82 on last July. Of the total deaths 101 were above 60 years. Only one case of pneumonic influenza lias so far been reported in Waimate.
