15 PERCENT REBATE.
TO STATE FIRE POLICY HOLDERS.
An important statement was made in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon by Sir Heaton Rhodes (Minister hr charge of the State Fire Office) with regard to a rebate to policy holders. T'-e Board of the State Fire Insurance Office, stated the Minister, ! as decided to grant a rebate of 15 per cent, in respect of all premiums under policies dating from August I t, 1923. .Hid within twelve months thereafter. Th. Stale Fire Office is ill an exceptionally strong position financially, and it is anticipated that the rebate to be allowed by the Fire Office will ho provided out of the imderwriting profits for one year without drawing upon the income from investments which now bring in a consult rable revenue.
