ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES. The figure of a grey-garbed phantom officer who patrolled the night beat of “Little Hell,” in a city of blue-uniformed policemen is the intriguing mystery that Sinclair Lewis, noted novelist, made the basis of his story, “The Ghost Patrol,” which Universal has filmed and which comes to the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. Comedy: “Boyhood Days,” extra: second series of “Leather Pushers.”

On Thursday night the much-read story “My Lady of the Cave,” is picturised. It is the first and only film drama of New Zealand life entirely written, enacted, produced and photographed by New Zealanders. A love story unlike all others and so quaint and charming that it steals into your heart like some weird and beautiful melody.

“SINGED WINGS.”

Another of those splendid easts that are characteristic of Paramount pictures, has been assembled for “Singed Wings,” the eight-reel drama in which Belie Daniels and Conrad Nagel play leads, and which is to be the chief item in to-morrow night’s cabaret at the Town Hall. The story is the romance of a beautiful underworld Spanish dancer who becomes society’s favourite. She is tempted by false love, risks all for the man she loves, is deceived. After that love to- her meant revenge, swift and sure, but how? The answer is in the flaming climax. The Moth Dance performed by Belie Daniels in this feature is the finest achievement of the photographer's .art lo date. “Torehy’s Hold Up” will supply the laugh in the programme. Usual Cabaret prices. On .Saturday evening a‘line drama of the sea entitled “The Devil Within” with Dustin Farnum playing lead will lie screened.
