SOCCER NOTES.
The local team journeyed to Levin on Saturday to play the return league match with that team. Foxton winning the toss, the Levinites set the hall in motion. The standard of play was not of the best to watch, although some pretty head work was witnessed and the game ended in a win for Foxton by 2 goals to one. It is very gratifying to note that the local boys gained 4 points out of 4 against Levin and also to see that the Levinites have improved since the first meeting this season. The local hoys have played 8 League matches to date, resulting as follows-Won, fi; lost, 2 : Points, for, 12; against 4, possible 16 pts.
The. third social evening was held on Monday evening in the Clubroom when about 50 persons were present. The Club-room was tastefully decorated and dancing was the order of the evening. Songs were rendered by the Misses Morgan and Messrs Carter, Chalk and Hinds, which added greatly to the success of the evening. The catering was in the hands of the ladies committee. Owing to Mr East being unable to attend, the musical side of the programme was in the hands of Mr Carter, assisted by Miss Morgan and Mr A. Baker. The committee tender them thanks to all those who in any way helped to make the evening such a success.
On Saturday Palmerston North’s Returned Soldier Soccer team will play the local team on the Racecourse at 3 p.m.
