ENTERTAINMENTS.

ROYAL PICTURES.

“Big Stakes” at the Royal Theatre on Friday night is an unusual action story of the West. J. B. Warner, supported by Elinor Fair is in the leading role. There is real riding, and roping, a real Gila monster is shown as a part of the story and interesting as well as amusing incidents are written around some Mexican jumping beans. On Saturday night Tom Moore is presented ill his brightest, breeziest and quaint picture “Hold Your Horses.” This is the story of an oppressed, downtrodden, henpecked Irishman, who suddenly discovers that it is no longer necessary for him to he down-trodden, with a most humorous result, it is a scream. Next week: “One Exciting Night,” a different story told in a different way. A WILLIAM FOX SPECIAL. William Farnum appears at the Town Hall on Saturday night in the William Fox production: “Moonshine Valley.” This is a fine thrilling dramatic story of a man who left the East to go prospecting in tiie West. He succours a doctor in distress who repays his host by shooting him in the back and leaving him for dead, then eloping with his wife. How much a man can x stand is finely told in the picture, and when an opportunity for vengeance comes the situation is very tense. How the hand of a little child stays the would-be murderer is beautifully shown in this very line story. .V Sunshine Comedy “Step Lively Please,” is the , chief supporting item.
