A brilliant foreign writer, Johann Bojer, of Norway, conceived the terrific theme of “The Power of a Lie.” the Universal all-star film play which will be shown at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. The story is said to be exactly what the title indicates, a scathing denunciation of deceit, and particularly of those “white lies of evasion” that many people tell without realising their awful harm. Comedy “Sting ’Em Sweet.” On Friday night a stirring story of the West, featuring J. B. Warner and Elinor Fair, entitled “Big Stakes,” is to be shown. The story is simply crowded with the most lively and unusual type of action, Next week D. W. Griffiths presents “One Exciting Night.” THRILLING STORY OF THE SEA. A powerful cast has been gathered together for the Paramount feature “On High Seas,” to be shown at the Cabaret at the Town Hall tomorrow night. This is a stirring story of the sea. a fire, a shipwreck, two persons cast away on a desert isle—of the grim struggle for existence. A brutal stoker one of the two, a society girl for his companion. Just think now. and you will realise what a tine production can be made out of these facts, and Paramount has turned out such a story as you will never forget. Usual Cabaret prices. On Saturday William Faruum appears in “Moonshine Valley.”
