FIRE BRIGADE BALL.
The Foxton Volunteer Fire Brigade will hold their second annual ball in the Town Hall on Monday, 23rd inst. The arrangements are in the hands of an energetic committee of ladies, consisting of Mesdames Pearson, Procter, and Nathans, who are leaving no stone unturned to make the function a success. This committee will be pleased to receive contributions of cakes or frut towards the supper arrangements. Larkin’s jazz band will provide the dance music and special care will be given to the preparation of the floor. Last year’s Fire Brigade Ball was a great success and it is the intention of those concerned to make the coming function an even greater success and in view of the purpose for which it is being held—to augment the social funds of the brigade—the public will, no doubt, lend their heartiest support. The prees of admission are set out in the advertisement.
• The usual fortnightly dance will not be held in the Masonic Hall on that date.
