ROYAL BIRTHDAY HONOURS.

NEW ZEALAND RECIPIENTS,

Auckland, Last Night

The Governor-General announces that His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased on the occasion of his birthday to confer the following honours in recognition of distinguished service: Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of British Empire (K.8.E.) Robert. Howard Nolan, C.8.E., honorary secretary and officer-in-charge of the New Zealand Soldiers’ Club in London from the date of its reception, early in tlio war, until its close some time after hostilities ceased. This club, which was admirably conducted, was of incalculable value to the Now Zealand troops on leave. Mr Nolan was formerly associated with the agricultural development and progress in the Taranaki Province. He was created Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1.018.

Kr'?;!:! Bachelor, the Honourable Frederick Revans Chapman, appointed a Judge of the New Zealand Supreme Court in 1003, and president of the Court of Arbitration 10031007 compiler of New Zealand Statutes, 1011.

(.'"mpanion of Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C. 8.) military division, Commodore Allan Geoffrey Hotbnin, C.M.G.. Naval aide de Comp to the King, in recognition of valuable services rendered in organising recruiting and training for the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy and as Naval Adviser to the New Zealand Government.

Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) James William Tibbs, M.A., one of the Dominion’s loading educationalists, who recently retired from the position of beadmaster of the Auckland Grammar School, which he had occupied for many years with conspicuous success. Thomas Edward Donne, secretary of the New Zealand High Commissioner’s Office, London, joined the New Zealand Public Service in 1875, was superintendent of the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts in 1901, and entered the High Commissioner’s Office, London in 1909. Officer of Most Excellent Order of British Empire (0.8. E.), Frederick William Flanagan, permanent head of the Valuation Department, who has been a member of the New -Zealand Public Service for more than half a century.
