NOTES. Young, Foxton’s goalie, carried out his duty in a very fair manner. Wilby and Mounsey, full backs, played the game of their lives, both placing the ball well when clearing. Hinds played hi.s usual game and bis head work with the ball was very fine. Matthew at centre half is worthy of his position and was responsible for several fine break-ups. With a little name training this player will be one of the best. Morgan showed improvement in feeding his forwards. His play in this connection was much admired. Francis is a flyer and .surprised the Palmerston spectators. He was responsible for one of the goals. Phillips played his usual game but was not in condition. Nixon played a new position as centre forward and fulfilled expectations to the limit, he being responsible for two goals.

Madden and Winstanley both played a fine game but were not used to the wet and heavy ground. Madden was responsible also for two goals.
