PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting was held on Monday. There were present: Mesdames Austin-Johnston (president), Wyllie, McDonald, Trueman and McMurray (lion, secretary). A'pologies for absence were received from Mesdames Pearson, Hynes, and Christie. Correspondence was read from the Foxton Chamber of Commerce enclosing donation of two guineas. Received with thanks. Mrs Austin-Johnston handed in £3 0/6, making the total for social afternoons £l3 fi/G. Mrs Anslin-John-ston was accorded a vote of thanks for her efforts on holm If of the society’s funds. Accounts amounting to £lB 11/- were passed for payment. The nurse’s report showed that she had visited Foxton four times for the month of April. Adults visits to room 31, babies 3fi, visits to homes 5, new eases 5, letters and cards sent out 7.
