OLD AGP PENSION GRANT AT 163. The Pekin Press reports the existence of a man HYing in Manchuria who was born in the twentv-fiflli year of the reign of the Emperor Chien Lung, which makes his present age 163. With notable generosily, considering the financial difficulties of the country, he has been granted an annual pension. A Russian friend, referring to the report, recalled that during the centenary’ celebrations of the victory over Napoleon in ISI2, four soldiers who had fought that year were present, their ages averaging about 130. When the Tsar asked if any others were living, he was told that there were many, but they could not be brought to SI. Petersburg for fear that they would fall to pieces during (he railway journey.
