THE HISTORIC CHRIST.
PERSONAL APPEARANGE. ROMAN REPORT POUND. Paris, May 3. The earliest personal description of Christ, according to the Matin, has been discovered in an old Latin text in the Vatican 1 library. It is practically the equivalent of a modern official report of a police department written in the time of Publius Lentulus, who is believed to have been Pontius Pilate’s predecessor as Governor of Judea.
It says: “Christ possesses long, fair hair, falling in curve.-, on His shoulders. His hair is parted in the middle, and He wears a doublepointed beard fairer than Ilis hair. His eyes are light blue and kindly in expression, but sometimes Hash under the stress of feeling. Of normal build, He stands erect and His voice is soft. He is never seen to laugh, but often cries. His bands are well kept.” The description concludes: “He is called Jesus, Son of Mary; His friends call Him the Son of God.”
