CR. LINKLATER RETIRES.

COUNCIL. APPRECIATION OF SERVICES. At Tuesday’s mooting of the Kailiiiiga County Council, the chairman, Cr. J. Linklater. M.P., spoke at length on the work accomplished during the year and a report of his address will appear in our next issue. . Cr. Linklater is not seeking reelection to the council, having withdrawn Ids nomination. Cr. D. Collis'"" spoke in glowing terms of tin* good work done by Cr. Linklater during his term of office. He sincerely regretted that Cr. Linklater was not seeking re-elec-tion. but lie quite understood that the retiring chairman was a very busy man and felt that lie would like to give more of his time to the higher sphere in which lie was engaged. He 1 h(*n moved that the council place on record its appreciation of the services rendered by Cr. lanklater. 'Die motion was seconded by Cr. •J. Small and carried with acclamation. Cr. Linklater suitably replied.
