RIFLE SHOOTING.
On Saturday the last shoot (postponed from the previous Saturday) for Alessrs Kirkland’s, Alelver’s and C. Simmons’ trophies, was held. A rear wind was blowing, which, on the range is very tricky and the scores were well below the average. “Double-bangers” were also very common. The results were: —
The winners of the trophies (the best two out. of three countings) ore: — First: H. Hamer, 70 —71, handicap 0, total 141, Mr Kirkland’s trophy; Second: C. Rand, 54—60, handicap 20, total 140, Mr Mclver’s trophy; third, J. Hartley, 06 —61, handicap 12, total 139, Mr C. Simmons’ trophy. Next Saturday the dual shoot for the Claris Rose Bowl will be held at 600 yards.
