DORCAS SOCIETY.

The committee of Hie above met in the Anglican Guild room yesterday afternoon. There were present Mesdames 1 (1 . Robinson (president), Mrs McMurray (secretary) Walton, P. McDonald, Moore and A. Ross. Apologies were received from Mesdames Pearson and Barr. Accounts amounting to £4 ltis lid were passed for payment, five applications were received and assistance given. Parcels are acknowledged from Mesdames Stuckey, Moor, Walton, A. Ross, P. Robinson, McMurray, Captain Huston, Anonymous and Miss J. Ross. The secretary reported that, after paying accounts the funds were almost exhausted. The annual meeting is to be held in May, when it will be necessary to arrange means of raising money to carry on. The Society is in urgent need of baby clothes for small children, mattresses for double bed and covering for same.
