o have just received, from the publishers (Messrs Gordon and Gotch (Aust. Ltd.) j„BETBOAIHR the following magazines.— Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions, April Number: This number contains the latest and prettiest designs for children of all ages. The gratis patterns enclosed are for girl’s short coat, 1G to 18 years, school and party frock, G to 8 years, boy’s Raglan coat and cap and a girl’s Raglan coat and hat, 4 to 6 years, with simple directions for cutting out and making up. A lesson is also given in the new embroidery for trimming children’s coats or dresses. Commencing with this number the price of Weldon’s Paper patterns will be reduced to lOd each and may be obtained from pattern agents advertised in the publication. No home should be without Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions.

The Premier Magazine.—March issue contains many good stories by popular authors, all beautifully illustrated. “Seals of Silence,’’ by C. J. and Annie 0. Tibbits relates the story of the “Great Hotel Mystery”—one of the most baffling cases in criminal history. Nellie Tom-Gallon and Calder Wilson also contribute to this issue and there is an amusing story of “side” by the seaside by Howe] Evans, entitled “George on Holiday.” The March issue is full of interest and good reading. Detective Magazine.—Action and mystery pulsate in every line of this ingenious story entitled “He, Also Serves” by Guy Dent which appears in this issue of the “Detective Magazine.” Ex-Chief-Detective-In-spector E. Haigh tells some good stories from his notebook and states terrible accuracy is necessary to condemn a man to death. There are many good stories by popular authors and most interesting articles all illustrated, making a most successful number of the Detective Magazine. Green Magazine,—lssue No. 7 contains a new story by Douglas Newton entitled “The Impossible Brute.” Douglas Newton is a favourite writer of thousands of leaders and his stories never fail in thrill and adventure. Such well-known authors as Anthony Carlyle, 11. Mortimer Batten, Albert Dorrington and others all contribute to this issue and make it very attractive and a favourite magazine.

AUSSIE. SPECIAL N.Z. SUPPLEMENT. A copy of the latest “Aussie” is just to hand from the publishers. This instalment contains a supplement exclusively for this Dominion. It consists of 16 pages in characteristic New Zealand black and white art and literature by some very well-known writers and artists. The short stories, verse and paragraphs are uniformly humourous, and it is difficult to determine which one is better than another. . Of the clever subtle humour that characterises the magazine too much cannot be said, and the issue never at any time loses its genuine Australasian outlook.
