MOUTOA NOTES.
Last week the Moutoa Tennis Club entertained Miss A. Bowe at a social and dance in the schoolroom, in honour of her approaching marriage. During the evening Mr J. Aitken presented Miss Bowe with a beautiful Doulton salad howl and servers in token of the esteem in which Miss Bowe is held in the district. Mr W. Bowe suitably responded.
On Wednesday an enjoyable “All Sorts” afternoon was given by Mrs W. H. Smith at her residence, “Linlief,” Moutoa, for Miss Annie Bowe in honour of her approaching marriage. An amusing competition was won by Mrs Delanv and a pleasant afternoon closed with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” There was a large attendance of residents at the school house last night io tender a social evening and make a presentation to Miss Bowe, one of our most popular young women. Mr Upton,in making a presentation of silver tea set on behalf of the settlers, referred to the many good qualities of (lie recipient who was a general favourite and willing helper in all local efforts. The presentation was accompanied hv musical honours. Mr W. Bowe replied on behalf of liis sister. The school was crowded to overflowing hut despite this a most enjoyable time was spent.
