BUTTER AND CHEESE.
DROP IN PRICES. Wellington, Yesterday. A further cable received by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. advises that the London butter market has gone from bad to worse. On Monday, the market closed at 104/-, and is diilicult to sell at this price. Several Hew Zealand steamers have arrived and stocks are accumulating. Exports from Denmark last week were close on 2,000 tons, 84 per cent, of which were sent to the United Kingdom. There has been a i^' eV -p drop in cheese, the market weak at 112/- for white and 116/- for coloured. New season’s Canadian fodder cheese is now offering at 100/- per cwt. c.i.f. for prompt shipment.
