ROYAL PICTURES
A 1 Jennings, the author of a continued story now running in Australian “Life,” entitled “Through the Gates of Hell with O. Henry,” will appear at the Royal Theatre tonight in “The Lady of the Dug-out.” The Jennings brothers were 1o America what the Kelly Gang were to Australia. Their desperate escapades of holding up trains and robbing banks are still fresh in the minds of the present generation. Also Charlie Chaplin comedy and Tom Mix in “Chip of the Flying U.” On Saturday night James Oliver Curwood’s great story, “The Flower of the North,” will be screened. This is a vivid story of the great out-doors starring Henry R. Walthall of “Birth of a Nation” fame. Extra: “Robinson Crusoe.” Prices fld and 1/fi, children as usual. On Monday night the screen adaptation of Ethel M. Dell’s popular novel, “The Swindlers,” will be screened. It is a fine production and adheres strictly to the original story. The picture is taken in Rotten Row, London, and on board a liner and is exciting to tlm last. Prices fld and 1/(5, children unusual.
TOWN HALL HOLIDAY ATTRACTIONS.
To-night will witiiess the sereenof “The Lady from Long Acre,” a Fox production of special merit at usual prices. On Saturday night a six-reel holiday special will he shown, also a I usual prices, featuring Joseph Dowling in a very fine story of the Southern States, the land of feuds, of duels, of pretty women and intrigue. On Easter Monday night the Foxton Special, “Shame” will be screened. This picture needs little comment as it already bears the hall-mark of exceptional quality. John Gilbert, the star has inumerable successes to his credit and this one especially is about his best. The story touching on caste, is laid in the frozen north, moving rapidly from there to warmer climes and back again. Some scenes are exceptionally exciting, one of them depicting a thrilling light with a hunger-mad wolf is as dramatic as we have seen. Prices of admission are 1/- and 1/0, plus tax, children as usual, 3d and (id. After the screening a dance will be held, admission to which will be 1/1.
