ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

MOTOR FATALITY.

Mrs Alice Kripa, 28 years of age, residing at Rongotea, was fatally •injured in a motor smash between Awahuri and Rongotea on Friday night.

Mr W. Davis, of Glen Oroua, was driving his car, in which the deceased and Mr George Ross were also travelling, in the direction of Rongotea. When approaching a concrete bridge between Awahuri and Rongotea, a portion of the under part of the car gave way and threw the machine otit of control, with the result that, if dashed into the side of the bridge. The passengers were injured by the flying glass. Mrs Kripa received a cut on the head ns well ns injuries to her back, and it was found necessary to perform an operation at the hospital. This was carried out On Saturday, but the patient never rallied and died yesterday. The condition of Mr Ross is considered serious. MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENT. A motor cycle accident occurred on the Ashhurst road on Sunday as a result of which James Stanley Tetter and William Victor Kitching were admitted to the public hospital. Tetter is suffering from concussion. Kitching sustained serious injuries to flic head.
