ROYAL PICTURES

Money may be the root of all evil, but if it hadn’t been for money, the hero would never have married the heroine and “Confidence,” Herbert Rawlinson’s latest Universal starling vehicle appearing at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night, would never have been filmed. The story is by Bernard Hyman. Playing opposite Herbert Rawlinson is Harriet- Hammond. Harry Pollard directed the production, Also a comedy entitled “You and Me.” Prices as usual. On Friday night a double programme will be screened. William S. Hart will appear in “The Last. Card,” and Bessie Barriscale in “Tangled Threads.” “ONE WEEK OF LOVE.” To-night will witness the screening at the Town Hall of the superproduction “One Week of Love.*” The picture (seven reels in all) is one that has created a great sensation wherever it has been shown. Mr “Skipper” Francis will also sing the song of the same name which he" composed after seeing the picture. The Town Hall Orchestra will accompany the picture during the screening. A special supporting item will be a two reel comedy, “Breaking into Jail.” Admission: 1/6 and 2/-, children 6d and 1/-, plus tax. On Wednesday at the Cabaret, the third round of the waltzing competition will he held. On Friday William Farnum will appear in “Sehackles of Gold,” and on Saturday, the pantomime “Rip Van Winkle” will be screened at usual prices. GRAND BALL. On Friday evening in the Town Hall the dancing season proper will be ushered in by the f St. Patrick’s Day annual Grand Ball. This popular function, which is eagerly looked forward to from year to year by many, promises to be the usual great success and a very busy committee is leaving no stone unturned to make it such. .The catering arrangements are in the hands of a capable ladies' committee and the music will be supplied by Foxton’s own efficient orchestra avlio promise a muiscal treat in the matter of the latest music. The hall will t be tastefully decorated and onlookers will be admitted to the dress circle for the modest sum of- one shilling.
