TENNIS.

Since the courts were opened at the Moutoa. School, tennis has caught on and almost every evening a large number assemble to participate. Some excellent form is being developed and it is hoped to arrange a match with the Foxton club before the season

The following will represent Foxton in a match to be played against the Manawatu Tenuis Club on the Foxton Courts on Saturday next, commencing at 1.30 p.m. sharp.- Ladies Singles: Mrs McMurray, Misses McMurray, Beard and G. Robinson. Ladies Doubles: Mrs and Miss McMurray, Misses Beard and G. Robinson. Combined Doubles: Bryant and Miss McMurray, Mrs McMurray and R. McMurray, Miss G. Robinson and N. Ross. Men’s Doubles: Bryant and N. Ross, McMurray and Proctor, Jackson and Fergie. Men’s Singles: Messrs Bryant, Ross, Proctor, McMurray, Jackson, Fergie, McDonnell. Players are requested to assemble at 1.30 p.m. sharp. Games to be played promptly. Handicaps:— Rose Bowl (Ladies) competition, Ist round: Miss P. McMurray bye, Mrs McMurray 12, plays Miss G. Robinson scr. ; Miss Perreau 5, plays Miss Strand 7; Miss R. Barber 8, plays Miss Purnell 20; Miss Woodruffe 15, plays Miss Neylon 15; Miss Beard scr., plays Mrs Erurua 5. Late entries will.be included in a further draw and members are requested to arrange that games are played off promptly. The draw for the Men’s Handicap Tournament will take place this week, and any. intending competitors who have not yet entered will kindly do so immediately.
