ROYAL PICTURES,
Despite the dangerous setting, he had to work with, Hoot Gibson is said to do the best work of his motion picture career in “The Galloping Kid,” his latest Universal picture, starring vehicle, directed by Nat Ross, which comes to the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. Playing opposite the star is Enda Murphy, the versatile little Universal player, who has scored so successfully in other Gibson vehicles. Others in the supporting cast are Lionel Belmore, Leon Barry, Jack Walters, Percy Challenger, and Steve Clemento. The story is by William H. Hamby, adapted to the screen by A. P. Younger. Comedy: “Kicking Fool.” Prices as usual.
THE CABARET
This decidedly popular form of
entertainment with its continual variety increases in favour each week. Whether it is the seductive influence of the tinted light*, the delightful music or what, it is nevertheless the most remarkable entertainment devised for drawing power. Possibly it is the crowded houses that make it such a success each week, or it may he —happy thought—the sterling picture programmes screened each week. This week with four Paramount stars in a decisive melodrama reaching from a London ballroom to the wild African jungle, a first class entertainment is assured. Exactly a week to-day will witness the screening of the picture that is all the rage just now “One Week of Love.” Air W. W. (Skipper) Francis has been engaged to sing the song- he oomposecl on the picture, copies of the song being on sale at Heath’s where the box plan is now open.
