PEARSON MEMORIAL FUND.
FOR NEW ZEALAND BLIND. A meeting: of the local committee in connection with the above fund was. held on Honda# evening at the Blanket rooms for the purpose of receiving the .report of the appeal made on behalf of this fund. The Mayor (Mr J. Chrystall) presided. Mr S. 11. Poole, Mrs Pearson and the Rev. W. Walton (secretary) were present. The lists were handed in and the amount were as follows:
Mrs F. Robinson .... £lO 11s Gd Mrs Pearson £4B 5s 3d Rev. W. 11. Walton .... £2 4s Gd Mr Follas £1 2s 3d Mr Poole 15s 0d Mr W. Kirkland .... 15s Od
With the amount of £lO 10s voted by the Moutoa Drainage Board, the total sent from the district amounts to the sum of £74.
The Mayor moved a vote of thanks to the collectors and especially mentioned the excellent work accomplished by Mrs Pearson.
Certain promises are yet to come in and as the fund is now closed, contributors are asked to leave the amount promised with Mr Poole or the Rev. Walton as early as possible.
Mrs Pearson and Mr Walton spent the whole of last Tuesday in thoroughly canvassing the whole of the Moutoa distinct, meeting with very few refusals. Mr Poole was asked to forward a Bank draft for tlie amount collected to the Pearson Memorial Fund treasurer, Auckland.
