Foxton and Otaki met in the Country Clubs Cup Contest at Otaki on Saturday, and after some veryinteresting games, Otaki came out victorious in the aggregate by 113 games to 41. The following are the details: — FOXTON V. OTAKI. Ladies Singles: —Miss Beard (0), Dr Atmore (7); Miss Robinson (4), Miss Brandon (7). Men’s Singles:—Bryant (4), Atmore (9); Proctor (1), Siever (9); Ross (8), Simcox (9); Jackson (0) Taliiwi (9). Ladies’ Doubles: —Misses Beard and Robinson (4), Dr. Atmore and Miss Quill (9); Mrs Edwards and Miss Strand (8), Misses Brandon and Bennett (9). Men’s Doubles:—Bryant and Procter (4), Atmore and Siever (9); Edwards and Ross (3), Simcox and Taliiwi (9); Jackson and McDonnell (2), Simcox and Bennett (9). Combined Doubles: —Bryant and Miss Beard (8), Simcox and Miss Quill (9); Ross and Mrs Edwards (8), Bennett and Miss Bennett (9). Total: Foxton 41, Otaki 113. The committee hope to arrange a match in the near future with the Manawatu Tennis Club. Members are requested to obtain all possible practice to enable the match committee to place a team and issue a challenge in connection with the Newman Cup.
