BOWLING.
A team representing Foxton- Club visited Feilding on Saturday to try conclusions with the holders of the Dixon Cup. Play took place on the outside rink, which handicapped the local team to some extent on account of wide-drawing bowls, but nevertheless the green was in excellent order. Foxton made a very good start and at the afternoon tea adjournment the scores stood at 11 —6 in favour of Foxton. Feilding gradually overhauled their opponents later in the game, however, and the seventeenth head found Feilding one up on the visitors. The last head was against Foxton when the skips went up to play, and Roore endeavoured to kill it, but was unsuccessful, just missing a beautiful drive, which left Feilding with another two, the final scores being: Feilding 23, Foxton 20. The following are the teams: — Atkinson, Spence, Clapham, Chappell (s), Feilding; Ball, D. Whibley, Jno. Ross, Roore (s), Foxton. Conditions were good for bowling and a very enjoyable time was spent.
