CRICKET.
WERAROA DEFEATS FOXTON.
Wcraroa visited Foxton on Saturday and defeated the home team with something to spare. The visitors had first use of the wicket, and with 130 on for four wickets, de-' dared their innings closed. Pringle. 07, O’Connor 34 (not out) and Claridge 18 did most of the scoring. Foxton made a good show with the bat, and put on 80, young Procter batting really well for 30.
Y.M.C.A. EASILY' DEFEATS SHANNON.
More than usual interest centred in the Y.M.C.A.-Shannon match on the Levin ground on Saturday. There was only a difference of two points inutile positions of the teams and it was expected that the game would be very close. Y.M.C.A. put a strong side in the field but Shannon was without the services of one or two of its best players. Y.M.C.A. won with nearly an innings to spare. Shannon knocked up 31 in the first innings and 67, in the second, a total of 98. Y.M.C.A. notched 95 in the first innings.
