HIGH COMAUSSIONER’S / REPORT. The High Commissioner’s cable, dated the 17th inst., reads: “Hemp, Manila market, steady firm, quieter towards close. ‘J’ grade, Feb-ruarv-April shipments, sold at £35 10/-; now quoted at £35 5/-. Mar-ch-May shipments sold at £36. Now Zealand market mderaote request for fair grade, quoted sellers at £3l 10/- February-April shipments; good inquiry for common grade at about £3O. Stocks at London on 31st January were 252 tons against 141 for the same time last year.”
