DECEMBER WORKING,
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of December was 494,600 e.ft., which with the amount in the holder on December Ist, 10,200 e.ft., made a total of 504,800 ft. During the month 397,000 ft. of gas was used by consumers, 20,000 ft. in street lamps, 27,000 ft. at the works and there were 15,400 ft. in the holder on January Ist, leaving 45,400 ft. representing 9.1 per cent, unaccounted for. Forty-six tons of coal were carbonised during the month, yielding 10,750 e.ft. to the ton. The earnings for the month totalled £3lO 13s Gd and was made up as follows :—Gas sales (lighting) £122 17s lOd, heat and power £l4B 9s Id, .coke sales £3O, 0s lOd, tar sales 3s, fittings £6 3s 3d, services £1 lls-Od, labour services £l, labour fittings 7s, miscellaneous 1/6. The expenditure for the month totalled £221 5s 8d and was made up as follows: —Coal £97 15s 4d, salaries and wages £SO 16s 2d, printing and advertising £5 14s 6d, tools £3 15s, timber retorts £2 Is, working expenses 3s 9d, cartage and freight 3s fid, holder repairs 4s Bd, stores £1 0s Id.
