BOROUGH FINANCES.

TREASURER’S REPORT,

During the month of January the sum of £4,278 17s 7d was received and has been placed to the credit of accounts as follows. —District Fund a/c £4,275 0s Id, cemetery a/c £3 17s Gd. The sum of £4,400 has also been transferred from General a/c to W. and D. Loan a/c during the month in addition to the £I,OOO already transferred. This explains this large debit in the General a/c shown below: —

The ledger balances on the 31st January were as follows: —Imprest Cash £lO, General £4,921 2s sd, Interest £92 Os 9d, Reserves £(10 Os Gd, Town Hall £52 7s 7d, all at a debit a total of £5,135 11s 3d. The accounts at credit were:— Cemetery £lO9 17s 7d, Temporary Deposits £4,800, Contractors’ Dep. £206, Drainage Connection Loan £4OO, Gasworks £l9l 0s sd, Hospital and Char. Aid £2 13s 6d, Council Chambers Reconstruction £1,235 8s sd, Library £97 19s lid, Sanitation £92 5s 9d, Water and Drainage Loan £1,437 18s lOd, Town Hall Pictures £232 14s, a total of £8,805 18s sd.
