ADDRESS -IN-REPLY DEBATE

COMMENCES.

The Address-in-Reply debate, at the end of which will he the division to test the strength of the parties, was commenced in the House of Representatives last night.

The mover of the Address-in-Re-ply was Mr W. Girling, Wairau’s new member, and the seconder was Air A. D. McLeod, the representative of the Wairarapa constituency. Each member spoke for just on an hour, and at 9.25 p.m. Mr T. AL Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, moved the adjournment of the debate.

The debate was resumed at today’s sitting.
