PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the above society was held in their room yesterday. There were present: Mesdames Austin (president), F. Robinson, Pearson McMurray, Cliry-.-stall, A. Ross, Walton, Rowley, Hynes and Christie. Apologies were received from Mesdames W. Symons, McMurray, McDonald, Wyllie, and Cowley.
Accounts •amounting to £1 9s 8d were passed for payment. The lion, secretary reported that the Beach Shop Day had realised £ll Os 3d. The society will have to make another effort to make up their quota of Nurse’s salary, £ls and other incidental expenses before next May. The public are urged to support the society by becoming honorary members. The subscription is only a moderate one of 5/-. Anyone who is doubtful about the need of a nurse for Foxton should visit the room any Friday and see for themselves the work that is being done. The number of visits by mothers and bailies to the ofliee for December and January was 151; visits by Nurs'e to home, 7: box collection for .January 4/-..
