MANAWATU COUNTY COUNCIL.
The Manuwatu County Council met yesterday. Present: Crs. 11. IT. Hunt (in chair), Fagan, Penny, and Earlier. Leave of absence was granted Sir James Wilson and Cr. Mclvelvie.
Application of Sanson School committee for bell formerly used at Scott's Ferry was granted. It was’Tesolved that the Commissioner of Crown Lands he asked to gazette see. 87-88, Tangimoaua township as a Domain and that the Council he appointed a Domain Board to control those domains. The overseer was asked to report on the purchase of a gravel pi! to ihe engineer's approval. Transfers in the rate roll were approved .as follows: —-J. \\. Diet’s lo Mrs E. At. Barnes, E. M. Barnes to J. IL Duncan, J. 11. Lover to W. J. 11. Lover, K. II Brewer to John Graham, It. C. Hammond to Allerby Bros. Il was decided that Airs Bennett In- granted remuneration for liter services at Rongotea siding, which were much appreciated. - All- rales outstanding after the 21st insl. are to he sued for. The previous resolution regarding raising loan to pay off Antecedent Liability was confirmed and a specia 1 rate of l-2Uth of a penny is lo he struck. Tenders are lo be called for lbe supply of 8(h) dog collars. A commit feu consisting of the chairman and Crs. Penny and Fagan being ouIhorised to accept. A sinking fund of an annual sum of £l2O is to be established for the purpose of repayment of the Antecedent Liability Loan, the Public Trustee to lie Commissioner for the purpose. The Treasurer reported as follows: County Fund, general account, dr. £-10,050 10/0; Loan account cr. £0,390 18/5; net cr. bal. £4,734 7/11.
