RIFLE SHOOTING.
A shoot for the Claris Rose Bowl was held last Saturday, at range of 300 yards. The weather was fine, and the wind, though strong and gusty, was not very changeable. Rifleman Barnard'put on the excellent score of 72 off the rifle, and he and Rifleman Symons are now leading with 7 points each. Rifleman Hamer has 2 points and Rifleman Rand and Rifleman Frankland one each. Scores on Saturday were: — Points 300yds. H’cnp. Total 3 A. Barnard 72
The present positions of those who have qualified so far for the aggregate average off rifle are: — Barnard 43.06, Hartley 42.06, Hamer 41.035, Head 40.69, Rand 40.62. Next Saturday the first shoot will be held at 500 yards for trophies presented by Mr S. J. Hartley (Ist prize) and Mr H. Frankland (2nd prize); 100 rounds Club ammunition (3rd prize).
