MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.

ON APRIL 25th

The election of Mayor and Councillors for the borough of Eoxton will take place on Thursday, 25th April. The correct date would have been the 24th, but as that happens to be Anzac Day, which is observed as a Sunday, the elections will be held on the following day. As far as we know all the sitting Councillors will offer themselves for re-election. At present there are two vacancies on the Council caused by the retirement of Cr. Wliibley and Cr. Martin who is absent on leave of absence for the remainder of the present term. There is some talk of a contest for the Mayoralty this year, but so far no names are mentioned. The present Mayor will probably offer his services for a further term. Mr Chry stall has had a very strenuous time since he has held the position and it is possible that he will consent to retain the office until the water and drainage works are completed.
