FALSE ENROLMENTS.

FOUR DEFENDANTS FINED. Christchurch, Last Night. - At the Magistrate’s Court charges involving.breaches of the Legislative Act were preferred against Lydia Cheetham (two charges) Lydia Poland (two), Frederick Vincent Rutherford (four), and Peter Callaghan (four). The two first-named accused were •charged with making false statements in enrolment forms and signing the names of other people on claims for enrolment. Rutherford signed his name as a witness to the signature, which he had not seen written, at Callaghan’s request. The women were fined 10/- each on one charge and ordered to pay costs on the other. Callaghan was-fined 40s and- expenses on each charge, and Rutherford 20/- on each charge. .
