ILL-TREATING A GIRL.
Dunedin, January 17. At the Police Court, Herbert Ormond, on a chai’ge of ill-treating a girl aged 12J years was fined £lO. The girl had been licensed out to the defendant, a farmer. On account of something she had done to his children he took -her clothing off, put her under a tap ang fiogged her with a dog collar. 'The defence denied stripping the girl and urged that the defendant who has an excellent, character was beside himself at what liad happened.
