DROWNING FATALITY.
HEROIC MAORI BOY. Auckland, Last Night. A Maori lad, Hina Whitu, aged 17 years, was drowned at Kimiha, near Iluntly, while endeavouring to save another boy, Hori Tetaliu, aged eight years who was also drowned. Tetaliu was in a canoe with three others, crossing the Waikato River, when it capsized. He was washed up, Whitu swimming to the rescue.
