ROYAL PICTURES.
“Little Eva Ascends,” one of the most humourous and human stories that have reached the screen, will be screened at the Royal Theatre to-night. Gareth Hughes, the boyish star of “Sentimental Tommy” and “Garments of Truth,” is >een in the leading role. lie plays Roy St. George, the sixteen-vear-old son of a barnstorming actress, who is' condemned to act Little Eva in a one-night-stand “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” company, although he has long since out-grown the part. The story of 'bis revolt is a classic of boyhood. It appeared as a short .story by Thomas Beer in the Saturday Evening Post, but translated to the screen it is ten times as effective. On Friday night “The Single track” will be shown and on Saturday “Hail the Woman,” all at usual prices.
