Sir, —You were a little mild in reference to the local shop-window writing to celebrate the birth of the New Year. Some of Ihe writing was of a very disgusting character and those guilty of >uch a form of “.joking” are a danger to the moral welforc of the town. Yours, etc. CITIZEN.
Sir,- —I have to thank yon for the appreciable leader in Saturday’s is„uo, hi connection with the much desired progress of the registered Band. The progress is being hindered by tinkering resolutions by one or two councillors, who seem- dull of apprehension in affairs musical and who do not realise the hard work and study envolved in public Band work —especially unregistered At a meeting to lie convened this week the Society will exercise its legal right, and move that certain matters lie placed in the'hands of the solicitor.
