Chi.h. held their first sports meeting in glorious weather and be--1 fore a large number of spectators. -V The newly formed Silver Band was in attendance and rendered an cx- -> eellent programme of music at intervals. The refreshment booth ant} side-shows were well patronised.The tracks were in good order and some fast times were registered. • There •r.'.' were several very, close finishes which were a credit tp the handieap?r.l per, Mr Coilingwood. The meeting ' was a great-success and the arran’>J •I- gem'ents reflected great credit on the committee.

Follas; secretary', J. Madden; assistant secretary, Mr Roore Rangilieuea. RESULTS. 1- Cycle Road Race (7 miles): — 21 R. Nicholson (lm 30s) 1, 11 S. Hayes (2m Os) 2: 15, R, King (lm 30s) 3. Also started 10, P. Griffin (ser.), 14, H. Jensen (lm), 26 R. Sligo (lm), 29, G. H. Wright (2m 50s) 25, E. Southerland (2m 3s), 6 Wj Den ford (lm), 13, E. Jensen (lm 355) ; 16, A. E. Lockwood (2m 50s). Time 22minutes.-' ; A big in Main Street to witness the finish. Nicholson, Hayes and Sautherland entered Main Street slightly in front of King, Denford, Wright, Jensen and Sligo with Griffin about 50 yards behind. In the race to the tape, Nicholson got the verdict by half a length from. Hayes, Sautherland just being beaten by King for third place. Then came Denford, Sligo, Wright and Jensen in that, order with Griffin who put in a great run at the finish, close up. 2. 100 Yards (Maiden) all scratch : —D. Ball 1, A. Waller 2, H. Doyle 3. Boyd (50 yards) 3. 'Also started A. Reid, K. McMurray, A. Doyle. H. Reid drew away about 100 yards from the finish and won by about 10 yards. Time 2m 20see.

Honour. 13. Sheffield Handicap:—D. Ball (15 yards) 1, T. Morgan (12 yards) 2. L. Alsdorf (7 yards) 3. Also ran: W. Healey, H. Taylor. Morgan and Alsdorf were quicker off the mark than the other runners. They caught Ball and the three ran together. With 20_ > yards to go Ball was slightly ahead and in the final run Ball brake the tape slightly hi frcjnt of Morgan with Alsdorf very "close, third. Time 12Asecs.

19. Boys’- Sack Race. —W. Hirini 1, J. Potaka 2.

Hayes (lmin 30sec.) 2, E. Sautberiaud (2 min) 3! Next came King, Denford, Sligo, E. and H. Jensen. The scratch man, P. Griffin, was very unfortunate in this race.
