SILVER BAND.
NOTICE TO BANDSMEN. The following letter has been received by the Athletic Club from Mr J. Golder of the Silver Band, y “In the matter of Silver Band instruments for the forthcoming sports meeting with which you approached me about and of which you would like something definite, the instruments will arrive here on Saturday and since there would not be much time for a rohcrsal,.! would suggest that all bandsmen, including Salvation Amy Band amalgamate for that day and give their services grtis and make it an interesting gathering. “The combined bands could have the use of the silver instruments for that day and the existing little differences dropped for the occasion. A conductor could he drawn for if necessary. Everybody is desirous of seeing the sports a success and I am quite sure the public would make every allowance for impromptu playing.” Mr Golder also suggests that all willing bandsmen meet at his. shop on Monday night at 7 for allotment of' instruments and st practice to be held l after in Aitchisons garage. Bandsmen with instruments of their own are also requested to bring them along. - L v .
