MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENT.
ON OROUA DOWNS ROAD. YOUNG MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. A serious motor cycle uccident occurred at about 10 o’clock on Tuesday morning almost opposite Mr Mills’ store at Oroua Downs, whereby a young man named Ramsay Young met with serous injuries to the head. Mr Mills heard a crash outside his store and upon investigating found the young man lying unconscious on the roadside and nearby the motor cycle. Dr. Wyllie and Constable Owen were immectiatc-ly summoned and the former attended to the injuries and ordered Young’s removal to the hospital where he was conveyed by Messrs Mills and G. Burling. Constable Owen states that from appearances the cycle skidded for some distance through coming into contact with loose meiai, causing it to overturn. The young man is aged about 24 years and has no mi l ives in New Zealand. He came from Scotland about a year ago to learn farming and was employed in the Huntervillc district. At the time of (lie accident lie was proceeding from Feilding to the local seaside where lie intended to spend a few days holiday with friends. Later. Upon making enquiries at the hospital this afternoon we were informed that Young had regained, consciousness and that he was suffering from concussion of the brain. He is progressing satisfactorily.
